This Scholarship was established in 2014 by the Michael and Theresa Naughton Family in Minnesota, USA in Memory of Late Sr. Emmanuella Fomenky of the Sisters of St Therese of the Child Jesus in the Diocese of Buea. The Naughton’s Family knew Sr. Emmanuella during their first visit to CUIB in September 2012. Late Sr. Emmanuella who was the Pioneer Director of CUIB’s Centre for Entrepreneurship, Research and Innovation (CERI), hosted the Naughton’s family at Christ the King College (CKC) Tiko as she was also the Principal of the College at that time. A friendship grew between Sr. Emmanuella and the Naughton’s family. Her death in January 2013 was a big loss to CUIB, her Family, friends and people of Goodwill who knew her. The Naughton’s family remember Sr. Emmanuella for her compassionate, caring and nurturing demeanor, always sensitive to the needs of others especially girls from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. In Memory of Sr. Emmanuella Fomenky, this Scholarship will provide financial assistance to students, particularly girls from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to immortalize the values of Late Sr. Emmanuella Fomenky. The Financial Assistance varies each year depending on our donors to this scholarship Award.
